Travel Grants for Volunteer or Study Abroad
How unbelievably wonderful it would be to travel for a purpose, all while being funded by someone else who supports this purpose? But I'm not talking about your parents or partner. (Even though that is wonderful!) I just discovered travel grants specifically awarded for volunteering!
Below are several grants, I come across:
Travelocity's Travel for Good grants up to $5,000 to volunteer at any of the following organizations: American Hiking Society, Cross-Cultural Solutions, Earthwatch Institute, or Global Aware. Prospective volunteers must create a two-minute video saying why they deserve to go. There are four quarter deadlines:
Q1: March 31, 2013 PASSED
Q2: June 30, 2013 PASSED
Q3: Sept. 30, 2013 PASSED
Q4: Dec. 31, 2013

Fulbright U.S. Student Program was founded in 1945 and is now the largest U.S. exchange program that offers students and young professionals the opportunity of undertaking graduate study, advanced research, and teaching abroad. * Make sure to apply ahead of time. There are several requirements and components to prepare for in the application process.
The Bucket List Initiative by Passion Passport is made up of a group of wanderlust travelers who believe in making others' travel dreams a reality. To apply for a travel grant, the task is simple.
Step 1: Applicants will answer a set of questions and tell their wildest travel dreams.
Step 2: Your projects will be selected by travel and creative experts as finalists.
Step 3: The online community will vote on a winner during a ten day voting period.
Step 4: The winner will receive a travel grant towards their dream trip.
So make those stories infamous! Good luck!
STA Travel Scholarships awards travel seekers a $2,500 study abroad scholarship for students who desire to receive an international education. Students must be a US or Canada citizen and must be matriculated in a North American college. Those applying should also be studying one of the following:

These are a few travel grants. However you get money to travel...TRAVEL! It's the most rewarding experience you can ever have in life.
Until next time...
Saludos!
